Bann-ished!

Bann-ished!
Causeway Boats crew welcomed onboard sea2it and Foyle College environmental club on board over the weekend on the River Bann.
Undeterred by the thought of storm Malik, a number of our Environmental Club members travelled to Coleraine in a bid to help Bann-ish litter from the banks of the River Bann. ♻️
They were supposed to be dropped along particularly bad parts of the river, where the rubbish had collected, but due to the high winds it was unsafe to take the rib out. Nonetheless, they enjoyed a morning sightseeing along the river by boat from the Coleraine Yacht Club to the mouth of the Bann, where the waves were crashing against the coastal defences! 🌊
Local guide, Charlie, provided pupils with a fantastic insight into the history, from 4000BC up to WW2, and they enjoyed lunch on a catamaran, with lovely tea and scones provided by their wonderful skipper, Richard, and first mate, Steven. After lunch, the group set about clearing litter from the banks of the Yacht Club and further along towards the town.
