Happy 4th of July to all our friends across the water! 🇺🇸
As you celebrate with family, food, and fireworks, we’re out here on the North Coast of Northern Ireland flying the stars and stripes in your honour aboard the Causeway Lass — and thinking about all the American visitors who’ve joined us on the water over the years.
The Causeway Coast — Already on Your Bucket List
If you’re planning a trip to Ireland, chances are the Causeway Coast is already on your itinerary. The Giant’s Causeway, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, the Dark Hedges — this stretch of Northern Ireland coastline is one of the most visited and photographed in all of Europe, and for good reason.
But here’s the thing most visitors don’t realise: the best views aren’t from the land. They’re from the water.
See It From the Sea
Getting out on a boat from Portrush Harbour gives you a perspective of the Causeway Coast that very few visitors ever experience. The basalt columns of the Giant’s Causeway stretching down to the waterline. The dramatic clifftop ruins of Dunluce Castle from out at sea. The hidden caves and sea stacks that simply don’t appear on any walking trail.
And if you fancy a rod in your hand while you’re at it, our mackerel fishing trips are a brilliant way to spend a morning — no experience needed, and the crew will have you into fish before you know it.
Practical Info for Visitors
We sail from Portrush Harbour on the north coast of Northern Ireland — about an hour’s drive from Belfast, and perfectly placed if you’re doing the Classic Ireland itinerary or the Causeway Coastal Route. Trips run throughout the summer season and can be booked in advance online.
Whether it’s a shared fishing trip, a private sightseeing charter, or something completely bespoke, we’d love to show you this coastline from the water.
Here’s to freedom, open water, and the fish that got away. Happy Independence Day. 🎆
