Exciting times ahead at Causeway Boats — our new RIB is just days away from hitting the water.
The outboard engine goes on this week, and on the 23rd she’ll head out for her final passenger licensing checks before being fully commissioned. Once that’s done, she’ll be ready to take her place properly in the fleet — and we genuinely can’t wait.
Meet the Causeway Girl of Coleraine
We’re not giving away every detail just yet — there’s a full reveal still to come once she’s commissioned — but we can confirm her name: the Causeway Girl of Coleraine. She’ll be based right here in Portrush, joining Causeway Lass and the original Causeway Girl as part of our growing fleet.
This isn’t a small addition. The new RIB is an extremely high-specification vessel, and represents a significant long-term investment in how we serve the North Coast. She’s been brought in specifically to meet growing demand across sightseeing tours, sea swimming support, and private hire — three areas that have seen real growth over recent seasons.
Why This Matters for the North Coast
More capacity means more flexibility for our customers — better availability for private charters, dedicated support for sea swimming groups like the North Coast Dippers, and an even better sightseeing experience along one of the most spectacular coastlines in Ireland. It’s an investment in the long-term future of Causeway Boats, and in the North Coast as a destination.
Watch this space — full details and her first proper outing will follow once she’s commissioned.
